Let’s get one thing straight about The CW’s new series ‘Hart of Dixie‘: You’re not going to see the stars shilling this show at Comic-Con. Ever. (If you do, let that be a sign of the end of Comic-Con, FYI.)

While we’re at it, here’s another thing to know about the new series: Just because Rachel Bilson is working with ‘The O.C.’ creator Josh Schwartz again doesn’t mean her new character, Zoe Hart, will be anything like Summer Roberts.

Summer was definitely her own entity,” she told AOL TV, nixing the idea that the two characters might be similar. Of course, they are played by the same actress, so it could feel a little familiar. “You know, you’re yourself, so some of her mannerisms might match up.”

She did steer clear of one thing when crafting her new onscreen persona, Zoe, a New York City doctor who inherits a medical practice in a small Alabama town. “I tried to stay away from the ‘ew,’ that was sort of Summer’s trademark. I decided to do it with a different inflection on the word.”

Bilson says it feels great to be working with Schwartz again. “Josh and I are kind of like brother and sister, so it’s basically working with your family again,” she told AOL TV. “Everyone else on the show, we’re an instant family.”

Co-star Jaime King promises that fans of Schwartz’s other CW show, ‘Gossip Girl,’ will love his new creation. King plays Zoe’s new nemesis, the “sassy Southern belle” Lemon Breeland. “She is very steeped in her tradition and what her father wants — her father basically runs the town,” she says. “Rachel Bilson’s character comes in and falls in love with my fiance and I’m not having it. So its a very ‘West Side Story,’ in-your-face-battle between us and it’s pretty hilarious.

What kind of hilarity? “Major catfights, but hilarious, in the Dixie Mart with Rachel in Chanel and me in Grace Kelly clothes with, like, pickled pig feet in the background.”

Zoe (Bilson) has conflicted feelings about seeing her estranged father, world-renowned surgeon Ethan Hart (Cole), who has agreed to travel to Bluebell to perform surgery on George’s (Scott Porter) father (guest star Eric Pierpoint) as a favor to Zoe. Fearful of losing George, Lemon (Jaime King) decides she must befriend Zoe in order to prevent her from telling George about Lemon’s affair with Lavon (Cress Williams). Meanwhile, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Rammer Jammer, the owner (guest star John Marshall Jones) hosts a signature cocktail contest between Wade (Wilson Bethel) and Shelley (guest star Deborah S. Craig).
