Got questions about Monday’s twisty, super-fun, cameo-packed Gossip Girl series finale? Well, we’ve got answers — straight from exec producer Stephanie Savage herself.

TVLINE | The Kristen Bell/Rachel Bilson sequence — how did the idea come about for that? They didn’t merely check their phones — they performed a whole comedic bit.
Once we felt certain that we could do Rachel and Kristen together, it seemed like you wanted to build more for them than just having them look at their phones. If you’re going to have those two ladies together in a scene then we wanted to have fun and play to their strengths. So Josh Schwartz and I came up with the whole idea… Having Kristen on the show was very, very special. To be able to have her onscreen for the finale was great. And to have Rachel do it with her was just the icing on the cake.

Hart of Dixie‘s winter finale gave fans the greatest gift of all: a real, romantic relationship for Zoe and Wade. But will the twosome be ready to say ‘I Do’ in the new year?

That we cannot tell you, but we can reveal exclusively that a pair of Bluebell staples — “people we know” well, shares showrunner Leila Gerstein — will tie the knot in a special spring installment of the CW charmer.

“Some of our characters will be having a wedding in Episode 16,” the tight-lipped Dixie creator tells TVLine. “There’s a big proposal in Episode 15 and then a big wedding [the following week]…. It will be very fun.”

So, which lovebirds are thisclose to walking down the aisle? We’re breaking down the likely — and unlikely — suspects below, and (we think) eliminating one potential couple from contention.

ZOE AND WADE | It took Zoe quite awhile to recognize Wade as her boyfriend, but now that she has, what’s to stop her from locking down her studly man for good? Wade’s already been married once, so we know he can settle down. And the doc herself is known for making big, bold moves — maybe one of them will be tying the knot with her new-ish guy!

GEORGE AND TANSY | This relatively new duo laughed off an engagement this week, but perhaps the time to wed will finally be right in a few months time.

ZOE AND GEORGE | The stars have yet to align for Bluebell’s Golden Boy and pint-sized doc and now they’re both happily in other relationships. But this is Hart of Dixie, which means at the drop of a hat, Zoe and George could find themselves dumped and depressed — and married to each other!

GEORGE AND LEMON | While unlikely, it’s not completely outside the realm of possibility that these longtime loves would find their way back to each other. They’ve certainly softened toward one another in recent weeks, and you know what they say: You never truly get over your first love. Hey, they’ve already planned one wedding, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to pull off another on a whim.

LEMON AND LAVON | These former flames are on the outs for now — but come on, they’re obviously meant to be. Speaking of, Lavon must still have that mega-watt engagement ring handy, right?

LAVON AND RUBY | Go ahead and count this now-ex-couple out of wedding running. Gerstein tells TVLine that Golden Brooks’ Ruby “is gone for awhile,” so it’s doubtful she’ll be the blushing bride. That said, “she may come back” later on, so perhaps there’s still hope for these two down the line.

BRICK AND EMILY | Who’s to say Brick won’t rekindle his romance with the one that got away — and just in time for a spring wedding?

ANNABETH AND A MYSTERY MAN | It’s only a matter of time before our favorite scene-stealer winds up with a love of her own. So, maybe Mr. Right will pop up soon and sweep Annabeth off her feet and down the aisle. (Might we suggest Travis Van Winkle’s newcomer Jonah Breeland?)

WANDA AND TOM | As much as we’d love to see one of Dixie‘s main players get hitched, don’t these two seem most likely to say ‘I Do’? The odds appear to be in their favor: they’ve been together longer than everyone else in Bluebell; they’re beloved enough characters to warrant a wedding, but not major enough to alter the fabric of the show (and its many love triangles) by marrying; and they’re so darn cute together, it would be “very fun,” as Gerstein promised.

As we continue to wait for news on a potential ninth season of ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ it seems creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas aren’t slowing down when it comes to bringing back past guest stars, especially those tied to the show’s mythology. Rachel Bilson is the latest major ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star to return to the fold for the show’s eighth season, whom fans will remember was roommate to the titular mother. Does that mean the endgame to finally meet the love of Ted’s life is in place?

‘How I Met Your Mother’ may not yet know if season 8 will be its last, but its guest stars are certainly pointing in that direction. Makeup artist Jennifer Turchi Nigh recently revealed over Twitter that one-time guest star Rachel Bilson will return in an upcoming episode, along with ‘Twin Peaks’ star Ray Wise as Robin’s father Robin Sr.

Fans of the series will recall that Bilson appeared as one of Ted’s love interests Cindy in season 5, briefly re-appearing in season 6. Most notably, she was observed to be the roommate of the titular mother, whom Ted never met during his time with Cindy, but in which he inadvertently expressed an interest.

Of course, we’re still waiting to see if CBS manages to sign the cast and crew for a ninth season of ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ leaving the significance of Bilson’s appearance up f

Zap2it: This season on “Hart of Dixie,” New York-raised Dr. Zoe Hart put her feelings for Alabama small-town lawyer George Tucker — who has spent time in New York — on the shelf and instead dove into a fling with bartender Wade Kinsella. On the surface, it would seem that she and George are a better match, so what do you think is the outlook for her having a long-term relationship with Wade, who’s not her equal in education or sophistication?

Rachel Bilson: They’re totally unequal. Usually it does bother the guy more. There’s something lacking. It’s always interesting to explore the unexpected or what you don’t see coming. On paper, George and Zoe make perfect sense. Sometimes in life, you see people and say, “They totally make sense. They totally don’t make sense.” And the ones that don’t make sense last.

So what is up with that? The “opposites attract” thing, maybe. But Wade’s character has shown that there’s more to him than meets the eye, so it’s interesting.

Zap2it: What do you hear from Southerners about the authenticity of the show and its portrayal of BlueBell, Ala. (actually the back lot at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Calif.)

Rachel Bilson: I have family in Tennessee, so they love it. Obviously, anything in television is going to be a little exaggerated, but I think the important things that are true to the south are how they’re really committed to their town and their families, how they have this support system.

But no matter what, Zoe stays true to herself, and they really respect that.

Another Breeland is booking it to Bluebell.

Happy Endings alum Travis Van Winkle has landed a recurring role on Hart of Dixie, TVLine has learned exclusively.

He joins the CW charmer (airing Tuesdays at 9/8c) as Jonah Breeland, Lemon’s studly cousin who once called the fictional town home. Beloved by the town’s denizens, Jonah ends up posing a threat to Zoe and her hard-earned good standing in Bluebell.

Van Winkle — whose additional TV credits include Raising Hope, CSI: Miami and 90210 — will next co-star in TNT’s apocalyptic drama pilot The Last Ship.

WHO: Rachel Bilson

WORE: A.L.C. maxi dress and ShoeMint boots

WHERE: ShoeMint’s one-year anniversary brunch in Los Angeles

Rachel kept things elegant yet casual in a sleeveless shirtdress enhanced by a brown and navy print and a contrasting black collar. The petite actress lengthened her look beautifully in boots from her own footwear line.
